Business Analysts
Do I receive a certificate after completing a course?
Yes. Multiple quizzes and tests are built-in to each course. Upon
successful completion, based on grade-point-average, a certificate
will be produced. This certificate can then be proudly displayed
and/or sent to your manager/training department for inclusion in
your personnel file.
If I purchase individual courses, can I purchase an upgrade to
the BSAC program?
Absolutely, you can upgrade in kind (CBT purchases with CBT version
of the BSAC; WBT purchases correspond to the WBT version of the BSAC).
Here's how it works, simply select/enroll in the medium you currently
have purchased (either the CBT or WBT version) and enter your payment
information through the secure payment page. Your credit card will
be charged the full cost of the BSAC program, however, we will issue
a credit to your card equivalent to the number of individual courses
you've purchased up to a limit of three courses. For example, let's
say you've purchased two individual WBT courses (at $59.99 US per
course) and now want to upgrade to the full series. You would enroll
and select the BSAC program course listed and pay the amount, through
secure payment of ($299 US). Once your credit card payment has been
approved you can start any of the courses in the series and in any
order you prefer. At the same time, our Accounts Receivable department
will be notified of your purchase through an automated facility.
We will then confirm your two previous purchases totaling $119.98
and immediately credit your credit card this amount.
How long is my Web-Based Training (WBT) registration
valid?
Courses are valid for 2 years of unlimited use with optional
time extensions.
Can I become Certified?
Yes. The Business Systems Analyst Certificate program is geared
towards the serious Business Analyst and organizations that desire
and require a recognized professional designation in the area of
Business Analysis. The series of courses compiled in this program
are specifically designed to complement and test your current knowledge
and business analysis competencies.
The program consists of eight courses:
· Fundamentals of Requirements Elicitation
· Determining a Project’s Objectives
· Defining a Project’s Scope
· Describing Business Processes
· Determining Information Requirements
· Describing Functional Business Requirements
· Documenting Requirements Meetings
· Eliciting Data Warehouse Requirements *
At the end of each course the candidate is required to pass that course’s specific
exam. Seven of the eight courses must be successfully completed to be considered
for graduation. The optional* course is “Eliciting Data Warehouse Requirements” since
not all environments include an On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) component.
Once the candidate successfully completes the program requirements (where
an individual course certificate is generated), submission of those ‘proofs
of completion’ must then be sent to the Registrar
at: http://www.inquestra.com/service.htm.
The Registrar will validate the application and, if approved, an official “Business
Systems Analyst Certificate” returned to the graduate, along with the
corresponding IIBA claim form for 21 hours of education
and a PMI claim form for 16 PDUs and an IEEE claim for 8
CEUs. The graduate has then earned
the right to affix the BSAC initials to business cards, resumes and other
documentation where applicable.

Where do I start now that I have enrolled in the course series?
While the course title and number suggests a certain sequence (recommended
for new students), you can take the courses in any order you please—even
repeat topic areas as you desire. Simply select a topic and you’re
on your way. Throughout the course there are aids to guide you through
each section. For example, an ‘Ask the Expert’ feature provides you
with more detailed information if you desire. A glossary of terms
assists you with definitions and usage context that works similar
to ‘context sensitive help’. If you are taking this course to augment
your skills, or re-taking topics of special interests, you can revisit
subject areas at any time.
Can I go through the course as many times as I want before taking
the test?
Yes. In fact, you can go through the course as often as you'd like
even after successfully completing the tests. The only restriction
is that you cannot re-take the tests (e.g. in order to obtain a higher
score).
If I fail can I redo the course and test again?
Yes. The courseware allows you take the tests as often as you need
until you pass that particular test. After that, the tests cannot
be re-taken (see previous question and answer).

Education Provider (EEP)?

Other than the cost of the BSAC program, or the individual course(s),
are there any additional fees?
No. There are no additional fees for things, such as, tests, certificate
production/distribution, reference material, etc.

What is a Business Analyst?
Business Analysts are responsible for identifying the business needs
of their clients and stakeholders to help determine solutions to
business problems. The Business Analyst is responsible for requirements
development and requirements management. Specifically, the Business
Analyst elicits, analyzes, validates and documents business, organizational
and/or operational requirements. Solutions are not predetermined
by the Business Analyst, but are driven solely by the requirements
of the business. Solutions often include a systems development component,
but may also consist of process improvement or organizational change.
The Business Analyst is a key facilitator within an organization,
acting as a bridge between the client, stakeholders and the solution
